A tutor since high school, I've been teaching ever since. Math is my favorite topic, but foreign languages represent another subject I love to teach. I can tutor in algebra, geometry, English, Spanish, ESL/ELL, plus any math from grade levels 2-8. My Spanish skills were improved in the 15 years I lived in Houston, where I taught Portuguese to foreign students at different language schools. The experience I gained here includes working at the University of Houston - Clear Lake in its Accelerated Learning Program.Like I said, I began teaching by helping others in my school, while a student myself. In high school I was asked to substitute at a preschool. I absolutely fell in love with the profession and haven't stopped. Later I studied education at University of Minas Gerais in Brazil. I was the owner and director of a tutoring school for five years, I then moved to the United States. I use my enthusiasm and positive thinking to help students overcome specific academic challenges and gain confidence and happiness.Outdoor activities such as tennis and cycling are my other life passions besides teaching and tutoring. I also love to travel so I can explore new places and learn about new cultures.
