My educational background and life experiences combine into a unique perspective and tutoring style.I graduated with a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University (BYU), where I also taught beginner's Italian and Advanced Spanish. After leaving BYU, I taught Medical Spanish at the University of Texas at Austin, and tutored Italian and Spanish there as well. I spent time tutoring Spanish in San Sebastian and Santander, Spain, before moving to Colorado and becoming a teacher at the University of Colorado Denver. Additionally, I tutored students and professionals privately in Spanish. Not one to always stay in one place, I worked as an English teacher at some large and well-known companies in Mexico and Argentina. Adding to my background, I have acted in theater and tv in Mexico City and Buenos Aires.I enjoy teaching both Italian and Spanish. Since language is intertwined with culture, I use videos, music, and audiovisual material to aid in the student's understanding. I find employing these different types of materials facilitates the student's enjoyment of learning a different language by providing a context that makes it less daunting. Students also learn much better when they enjoy the subject.In my spare time, I enjoy movies, traveling, music, sports, food, and museums.
